How to connect a Peblar with the built-in preset
Update the firmware
Install Peblar firmware 1.9.0 + C1.15 or later, free from Peblar's downloads page.
Select Plugchoice as operator
In the Peblar web interface, pick Plugchoice as the operator. No websocket URL or backend settings to type by hand.
It comes online
The Peblar connects and is normalized like any OCPP charger. You can keep an existing backoffice too, through the OCPP Proxy.
Manage and smart-charge
Turn on the app, load balancing, tariffs and cards. On the Business model, Plugchoice reads the MID meter for billing-grade kWh.
What Peblar is and why it runs well on Plugchoice
Peblar is the charger brand of Prodrive Technologies, engineered and built in the Netherlands. One rugged single-board design runs the whole range, from the 11 kW Home to the 22 kW Business with its billing-grade MID meter.
Every Peblar speaks OCPP 1.6J, so it connects to Plugchoice like any charger. Plugchoice then becomes the layer you actually use: one app, load balancing, tariffs and clean session data on every Peblar you run.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Peblar work with Plugchoice?
Yes. Peblar chargers speak OCPP 1.6J, so they connect to Plugchoice like any other OCPP charger. You point the charger at the Plugchoice websocket and it comes online.
Which Peblar models are supported?
The Home, Home Plus and Business models all use OCPP, so all of them connect. The Business model adds a certified MID meter and a socket, which is useful for company cars and semi-public charging.
Do I still need Peblar's own backoffice?
No. Plugchoice can be the backoffice for the charger. If you want to keep an existing backoffice as well, the OCPP Proxy lets the Peblar talk to both at once without disruption.
Can drivers use the Plugchoice app with a Peblar?
Yes. Once the Peblar is connected, the end-user gets the Plugchoice app to start, stop and monitor charging, with the same experience as on any other brand you manage.
Does Plugchoice do load balancing on a Peblar?
Yes. With a meter on the location, Plugchoice balances the Peblar against the building's live power so you charge as fast as the grid connection allows without overloading it.
Can I use the Peblar MID meter for billing?
Yes. Plugchoice reads the Business model's MID and Eichrecht certified meter, so transactions carry accurate kWh that you can use for reimbursement and reporting.
Is it free to manage a Peblar in Plugchoice?
Charger management on Plugchoice is free, including the app, diagnostics, cards and transactions. Power management and tariff modules are paid options you can add per charger.
